autistic people are kind. autistic people are loving. they are compassionate, and empathetic, and funny. they are intelligent. and they also might suck at math. they are people of color. they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, pansexual, asexual, aromantic, queer. they are creative, innovative. they feel very deeply. they are in your classrooms, your workplace. they're husbands, wives, spouses. boyfriends, girlfriends, your significant other. they may be homeless. and they may be physically disabled. they could even be you. they can be any of these things, and none of it makes them any less autistic.
autism does not discriminate. but the media does. we are more than a stereotype. we are people. and we are autistic.
